Jekyll and Hyde

title:

Jekyll and Hyde

Artist:

Myself and
Max BROMLEY

The production was around 15 people strong, with the four leading ladies needing to be able to quickly change from one character to another whilst on stage and back again, so I went through numerous different ideas on how to factor that in. The first idea involved magnets that could just be pulled back, another idea was a form on an apron tie, before finally landing on a cord that could run along a seamline that could be pulled and released.

This was extremely difficult to work on, as we had a tight deadline and one of our members was unable to attend a single fitting for her costume but luckily I was able to create her outfit with very little adjustment.

The skirts themselves were made from duchess satin and required to be somewhat accurate, but also be able to get dismantled at the end of the production for their fabric.

There were many different challenges with this costume set, but i enjoyed being able to work on something somewhat victorian again and get involved with the production backstage in terms of dressing, further quick changes and creating.
